Aldenham School: A Foundation for Success was commissioned to celebrate the success of Aldenham School over more than four hundred years, and to mark the achievements of all those who have been associated with the School throughout its long history. It's written by those with an intimate knowledge of the School and is lavishly illustrated throughout with images from an extensive archive. These include the Stanley Spencer painting, The Crucifixion, which is such an iconic image for former members of the School.
In words and pictures, the book charts the history of the School from Richard Platt’s original foundation, showing its evolution through periods of both continuity and change. As well as highlighting significant events such as the Quatercentenary celebrations and the 1998 visit of HRH The Princess Royal, it profiles important people in the context of the School’s historical strengths and enduring traditions. Drawing throughout on the reminiscences of past and present members of the School, the book offers a true and vibrant portrait of Aldenham, along with an inspiring vision for its future.
